For the Hall of Famer. This category is not open for entry, the Hall of Fame recipient will be announced ahead of the awards event.
Entry Criteria:
Are you a brilliant stand-up comedian? Is your material hilarious, your delivery on point and your punchlines perfectly timed? Did you have your own solo show/tour and feel on cloud nine afterwards? Then this category is for you.
Each registered comedy act/duo is permitted to submit ONE ENTRY for this category please.
Qualifying Conditions:
- This category is for stand-up comedy only.
- It’s for individuals/duos that performed for at least an hour, for their own show, not line-up shows.
- Entry timeline: Any show that took place between November 2022 and November 2023.
- You’ll need to have been fully responsible for the promotion: ticket sales, marketing and filling the venue.
- This category is open for all languages, but for South African Comedians only.
What to submit:
- Your show poster.
- If you have this, please submit a link to your show’s footage housed on YouTube or on one of your social media platforms. Please submit 5 mins of the best part of your show, or, if submitting the full show, please indicate which 5 minutes the should be watched for judging.
What the industry’s looking for when judging:
- As with all the categories, we have comedians voting for comedians.
- When it comes time to vote, you can only vote once per category.
- We trust that you’ll vote for the show that you LOVED, and that you were actually there to experience it.
- Vote for the show that stood out the most, not necessarily on how many shows the tour had, or how many seats were filled, as some comedians have been in the game for longer than others.
